    Balmoral Tanks case study

The Sir C Duncan Rice library was officially opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the 24th of September 2012. Work began on the £57m building in 2009. The new facility, designed by Danish architect, schmidt hammer lassen, replaces the ageing Queen Mother Library.

Prof Ian Diamond, principal and vice-chancellor of the University of Aberdeen, said: "This is an outstanding facility of which we can all be very proud. It will serve the needs and ambitions of our university, city and region for many decades to come."
