New methane capture facility at Millenkamp Dairy, Idaho
As part of its five-year outlook, Clean Energy, in partnership with bp, announced the development of a new methane capture facility at Millenkamp Dairy in Idaho.
As one of the largest dairies in the country, with a long-standing commitment to animal care and sustainability, the Millenkamp family was ready to take the next step in climate-smart technology by capturing methane from manure and converting it into clean fuel.
Balmoral Tanks partnered to install six 3-million-gallon Fusion Coated Epoxy anaerobic digester tanks, designed to process manure from the dairy’s vast herd into renewable natural gas.
Once fully operational, the facility is expected to produce 5 million gallons of low-carbon RNG annually, which will flow directly into Clean Energy’s national fueling network, helping to decarbonize heavy-duty transportation across the country.
With six high-capacity digesters, Millenkamp Dairy and Clean Energy are making a bold investment in the future of renewable energy.
