Project case study
Overcoming space constraints to deliver reliable water storage in Mexico City
The Challenge
Balmoral Tanks through its WaterTanQ potable water storage range, has successfully provided a long-term water supply solution to international clients located in Mexico City.
The population of Cuauhtemoc Municipality is set to benefit from a more reliable water supply, as a result of the project, which involved the supply and expert installation of a 5,000m³ Glass-Fused-to-Steel (GFS) premium water tank.
Delivered in collaboration with distributor, BTM, the tank was designed to ensure a supply of potable water storage and offered the benefit of a low maintenance, long-standing design solution, in a dense urban area.
BTM required a solution to ensure an uninterrupted supply of potable water to residents situated in Cuauhtemoc Municipality. However, the project presented significant challenges, primarily the extremely confined installation site.
The tank had to be constructed close to surrounding structures, requiring meticulous logistical planning.
Materials had to arrive and be unloaded on-site in a strict sequence, as there were no opportunities for repositioning.
The Solution
Careful and considered logistical planning and coordination, enabled the team to successfully install the WatertanQ tank within the restricted urban space, without the need for heavy, costly machinery.
Conclusion
This project demonstrates Balmoral Tanks’ ability to deliver flexible, high-quality WatertanQ solutions to clients.
Through precise logistical planning with a robust design, the team delivered a water storage solution that met the needs of the distributor, while overcoming significant installation constraints.to learn how precise tank design and planning can deliver reliable water storage, wherever space is limited
